Enhancing Sector-Specific Safety Measures During the Spring Thaw Period
Busan Transportation Corporation held a "Spring Thaw Safety Measures and Major Accident Response Plan Review Meeting" to inspect safety risk factors in urban railways and discuss sector-specific response plans amid growing concerns about transportation safety following recent incidents such as the accident at Geundeok Station on the Donghae Line.
At the meeting held on the 24th in the Disaster Situation Room of Busan Transportation Corporation, chaired by the president, various disaster and accident preparedness measures were reviewed, including △prevention measures for major accidents such as fires and railway accidents △analysis of accident and failure factors due to the arrival of the spring thaw period and sharing of safety measures by sector, thoroughly re-examining the corporation’s overall safety management system.

View original imageFirst, in response to the arrival of the spring thaw period, the corporation conducted a joint preliminary inspection from the 15th of last month to the 14th of this month on key vulnerable areas such as soft ground and urban railway facilities and equipment, and provided special training for all employees on accident cases and emergency response to ensure immediate action in case of unusual situations.
Additionally, following recent major fire incidents such as the Air Busan passenger plane fire and Banyan Tree fire, the corporation established a proactive response system to prevent similar cases by △conducting special intensive inspections for railway accidents and fire prevention △holding workshops to prevent serious disasters, thoroughly examining fire risk factors and countermeasures within the corporation to ensure safety.
