Second Consecutive Scholarship Donation to Pusan National University's Department of Mechanical Engineering
Pusan National University (President Choi Jae-won) announced that Dongseong Electric Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Sang-wan), a specialized company in defense industry rotating machinery, donated 10 million KRW as an endowment fund to support scholarships for the Department of Mechanical Engineering on the morning of the 26th at the university headquarters.
Dongseong Electric Co., Ltd., established in 1968, is a local family-owned business spanning three generations that has actively participated in the production and research & development of defense materials for over 50 years. This endowment fund is the second donation following the 5 million KRW contribution made last year to support the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Pusan National University.
Kim Sang-wan, CEO of Dongseong Electric, who visited Pusan National University on this day, said, “Our company continuously expands investment in research and development to strengthen our technological capabilities, and we hope that the talents from Pusan National University’s Department of Mechanical Engineering will lead the development of Dongseong Electric together.”
Choi Jae-won, President of Pusan National University, expressed his gratitude, saying, “The second endowment fund donated by Dongseong Electric will be used as scholarships for students in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Pusan National University, and we will strive to nurture talents who will lead the advancement of electrical and mechanical engineering.”

Dongseong Electric Co., Ltd. is engaged in various electromagnetics-related businesses such as generators, starters, blowers (fans), special motors, and DC machines. Its proprietary technologies include electromagnetic design technology, structural design technology, electronic circuit design technology, thermal and fluid analysis technology, and manufacturing and testing evaluation technology. Recently, the company joined the Hanwha Aerospace Win-Win Council (2024), received the New Korean of the Year Award, and plans to relocate to a new factory scheduled for completion in September this year.
