Ajin Kintech will invest 23.2 billion KRW in a 2,247㎡ (680 pyeong) site within Suseong Alpha City to relocate its headquarters from Gyeongju, Gyeongbuk, and establish an ABB-based next-generation technology research center. The relocation of the headquarters and research center will create employment for a total of 60 people, including 15 existing staff and 45 newly hired IT R&D talents.

Currently, Ajin Kintech operates over 80% of its manufacturing processes through robot-based automation and has proactively introduced smart factory technology in the domestic vehicle body parts production sector.

In the future, the company plans to build a research center in Daegu’s Suseong Alpha City to develop future-oriented flexible process solutions, validate them at Ajin Kintech’s factories, and then expand their application throughout Ajin Kintech and affiliated Ajin Group companies.

Since 2023, Daegu City has been focusing its policy efforts with the Ministry of Science and ICT to develop Suseong Alpha City into the largest digital innovation hub outside the Seoul metropolitan area.

Additionally, by attracting the Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology (DGIST) global campus, Daegu is establishing an IT and software industry-academia cooperation system and preparing a foundation to supply excellent talent to local companies.

Based on this, Daegu plans to attract promising companies’ research centers to Suseong Alpha City to revitalize research and development and further strengthen the competitiveness of the regional industry.

Seo Jung-ho, CEO of Ajin Kintech Co., Ltd., said, “Daegu is a core city for automotive parts and digital industries, and there is great potential for the future car industry combined with ABB technology. We will cooperate with Daegu City to build a sustainable growth model and contribute to revitalizing the local economy by expanding local talent recruitment.”

Hong Jun-pyo, Mayor of Daegu, said, “We welcome Ajin Kintech’s relocation of its headquarters to Daegu, having achieved solid growth as a specialized automotive parts company. We will actively support the stable settlement and growth of the company and the linked development of future mobility and ABB industries.”
