Gimcheon City Takes Steps to Expand Park Golf Infrastructure
Expansion of Park Golf Courses
New 36-Hole Course to Be Built in Bongcheon-ri, Nam-myeon
With the recent aging society, Park Golf has become a popular sport, and Gimcheon City has started to add a new Park Golf course in the Bongcheon-ri area of Nam-myeon along with maintaining existing facilities.
Citizens of Gimcheon are playing park golf at the 27-hole park golf course established in 2021.
View original imageCurrently, Gimcheon City operates a 27-hole Park Golf course established in 2021. From January 2025, public service employees will be assigned to operate the course from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., strengthening civil service response and facility management. The golf course is free for all Gimcheon citizens to use.
The city will have a regular closure period from March 4 to April 30 to protect damaged turf, manage growth, and maintain the course and facilities.
Additionally, to meet the increasing demand for Park Golf, the city plans to invest a total of 8.7 billion KRW to build a new 36-hole Park Golf course at 296 Bongcheon-ri, Nam-myeon.
The project will begin construction in November this year and aims to be completed by the end of 2027. The new course will also include parking lots and various auxiliary facilities.

A city official stated, "With the addition of the Bongcheon-ri Park Golf course in Nam-myeon, opportunities for citizens' sports activities will expand, and attracting various tournaments is expected to contribute to revitalizing the local economy."
