Mokpo Coast Guard Holds Appointment Ceremony for Senior Job Program Marine Environment Safety Patrol Team

Mokpo Coast Guard (Chief Kwon Oseong) announced that on the 21st, they held an appointment ceremony for the operation of the Sea Safety Patrol at the Hana Senior Welfare Center located in Mokpo.
The Sea Safety Patrol was established through the collaboration of Mokpo Coast Guard, Mokpo City, and Hana Senior Welfare Center after being selected as part of Mokpo City's 2025 senior employment project in the field of marine environment conservation and safety management.

View original imageThe patrol consists of ten members aged 60 and above who are well-acquainted with the characteristics of the coastal area. For about ten months until November, they will be deployed in teams of two at five vulnerable marine pollution areas in Mokpo to carry out various activities such as marine pollution monitoring and prevention campaigns.
The Mokpo Coast Guard plans to support the smooth operation of the Sea Safety Patrol by providing safety accident prevention training and necessary equipment for field activities.
A Mokpo Coast Guard official stated, "We expect that the activities of the Sea Safety Patrol will not only provide jobs for seniors who are economically vulnerable in an aging society but also greatly contribute to the prevention of coastal marine accidents."
