Soonchunhyang University Cheonan Hospital Introduces Ultra-Precision Advanced Cancer Treatment Equipment at New Facility

Soonchunhyang University Cheonan Hospital announced on the 20th that it will introduce two types of ultra-precise advanced radiation cancer treatment machines to its new hospital, which is scheduled to open on May 7.
The machines being introduced are the TrueBeam and Halcyon from the American company Varian.
TrueBeam is known as the highest specification among existing X-ray linear accelerators and is famous for its ability to precisely adjust the irradiation range, allowing for accurate cancer treatment with minimal side effects.
Halcyon features high-resolution capabilities that enable precise identification of the location of tumors and surrounding organs, and its treatment speed is about four times faster than conventional methods.
Hospital Director Lee Moonsu said, "We are currently operating two advanced radiation cancer treatment machines, including Versa HD," and added, "With the addition of two more machines when the new hospital opens, we will be able to provide higher-quality medical services to more patients."
