Pledging to Practice "Clean Governance"
for a Mature Integrity Culture
No Corruption or Abuse of Power in the City Council
The Jinju City Council in Gyeongnam held the ‘2025 Joint Integrity Resolution Declaration Reading and Pledge Ceremony’ for the practice of clean governance ahead of the 262nd extraordinary session on the 19th.

View original imageThe pledge ceremony was attended by all city council members, including Chairman Baek Seung-heung, and staff of the council secretariat, who voluntarily committed to practicing integrity as public officials. They signed the integrity pledge and publicly declared their anti-corruption and integrity commitments, including ▲prohibition of accepting money or gifts ▲creating an organization culture free of power abuse ▲prohibition of improper solicitation and mediation ▲compliance with the code of conduct for public officials.
Chairman Baek Seung-heung said, “To internalize the awareness of integrity, continuous effort and cooperation from all of us are necessary,” and added, “I ask for the active participation of all council members and staff for fair and clean legislative activities.”

The Jinju City Council achieved a grade 2 integrity rating for two consecutive years in 2023 and 2024 in the comprehensive integrity evaluation conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission targeting metropolitan and local councils.
