Hyundai Card to Host 'Culture Project 29 Tom Sachs Exhibition' for 5 Months
Held at Seoul DDP from April 25 to September 7
Around 200 Representative Works by Tom Sachs on Display
Hyundai Card announced on the 19th that it will hold the 'Hyundai Card Culture Project 29: Tom Sachs Exhibition' at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Jung-gu, Seoul, from April 25 to September 7.
The Hyundai Card Culture Project is Hyundai Card's cultural marketing brand that selects and introduces innovative and experimental cultural icons. The Tom Sachs exhibition is a project held for the first time in seven years since the 'The Weeknd' concert presented by Hyundai Card in 2018.
Tom Sachs is an artist based in New York, USA. He meticulously recreates iconic major products of popular culture, technology, and design using everyday industrial materials such as plywood, boxes, and tape through the bricolage technique, which involves using whatever is at hand.
The Tom Sachs exhibition is the first in Korea to showcase around 200 pieces of Tom Sachs' latest and representative works, 'Space Program: Infinity,' all in one place.
Early bird (pre-sale) tickets can be purchased from 9 a.m. on the day via Kakao, and from 6 p.m. on the 21st via Interpark. Hyundai Card members can purchase tickets at a 40% discount (12,000 KRW). Additionally, tickets can be purchased at a 20% discount (16,000 KRW) when paying with other cards.
From April 1, purchasing the limited edition non-fungible token (NFT) ticket for the Tom Sachs exhibition allows entry without separate ticket issuance. It also provides a raffle ticket to receive limited edition product purchase rights from Tom Sachs' collaborations with global brands, limited edition T-shirts designed by Tom Sachs, and invitations to private preview events.
Hyundai Card has been praised for introducing NFT tickets to cultural events such as the 'Hyundai Card Da Vinci Motel' in 2023, preventing ticket fraud and providing a new viewing experience.
A Hyundai Card official said, "We are presenting the Hyundai Card Culture Project again after seven years," adding, "The Tom Sachs exhibition will be a meaningful occasion to visually experience another world of Tom Sachs that transcends boundaries."
