Showcasing Outstanding Scenery to Visitors
Shinan County, Jeonnam (Governor Park Wooriang) announced on the 18th that it is currently exhibiting photographs showcasing the outstanding scenery of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Shinan Tidal Flats in the waiting area of the Mokpo Coastal Passenger Terminal.
This photo exhibition has been prepared for visitors to enjoy the vast landscapes and various forms of the Shinan Tidal Flats from the 17th of this month until the 14th of next month.

View original imageThe Shinan Tidal Flats were inscribed as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site by unanimous agreement of the member countries at the 44th World Heritage Committee on July 26, 2021. Of the 'Getbol, Korean Tidal Flats' listed as a World Heritage Site, 1,100.86㎢?which accounts for 86%?are from Shinan. All types of tidal flats found worldwide can be observed here, and in particular, a unique sedimentary structure known as the 'sand-gravel linear formation,' which is said to be the only one of its kind in the world, is developing in this area.
Governor Park Wooriang stated, "The Shinan Tidal Flats occupy the largest area among the Korean tidal flats listed as World Natural Heritage and exhibit the most distinctive features," adding, "I hope visitors will come to appreciate the magnificence and excellence of the Shinan Tidal Flats by viewing their scenery, which is different from the tidal flats seen from the Mokpo Passenger Terminal while boarding a ship."
