Fiber Material Research Institute Daitec Research Institute - Global Certification Body 'TUV Rheinland Korea' Business Agreement
Supporting Carbon Footprint Certification for the Domestic Textile Industry
DITECH Research Institute, a specialized research institute for textile materials, and T?V Rheinland Korea, a global certification body, signed a business agreement on the 17th at the T?V Rheinland conference room in Seoul to establish a global carbon data certification center for the domestic textile industry.
T?V Rheinland Korea is a Germany-based global testing and certification organization with over 150 years of history, internationally recognized for quality, safety, and environmental certifications. It is also one of the official bodies issuing CE certification, which is essential for exports to Europe, supporting domestic companies' entry into the European market.

Accordingly, domestic textile companies face an increasing need to respond swiftly to global regulatory changes.
Through this agreement, DITECH Research Institute and T?V Rheinland Korea plan to promote the streamlining of carbon footprint data calculation and certification procedures for domestic textile products, linkage with global carbon footprint certification, technical exchange and educational cooperation related to carbon footprint certification, as well as joint research and information sharing to respond to carbon regulations.
DITECH Research Institute intends to move away from the existing high-cost and time-consuming consulting methods and utilize a textile industry-tailored carbon emission data monitoring solution. This will enable companies to manage carbon footprint data more easily, reduce the time required to calculate carbon emissions, and thus offer cost-saving advantages. Additionally, the certification process will be simplified, allowing for faster certification acquisition.
Furthermore, by undergoing carbon data verification by T?V Rheinland Korea, the certification can be linked to internationally recognized carbon footprint certifications, making it actively usable in the European market as well. Through this, domestic textile companies are expected to proactively respond to global carbon regulations and secure continuous growth opportunities in overseas markets.
Choi Jae-hong, President of DITECH Research Institute, stated, “Through this agreement, we will support domestic textile companies to obtain carbon footprint certification more easily,” and added, “We will continue to expand international cooperation for the sustainable development of the textile industry.”
