Mirae Asset Launches New TIGER US Consumer Trend Active ETF
Mirae Asset Global Investments announced on the 18th that it will newly list the ‘TIGER US Consumer Trend Active ETF’ on the Korea Exchange.
The ‘TIGER US Consumer Trend Active ETF’ is an ETF that invests in growth companies leading trends in the rapidly changing US consumer market. It focuses on the growth potential of fast and diverse consumer trends as the MZ generation emerges as the main consumer group in the US, the world's largest consumer market.
The MZ generation, which has emerged as the main consumer group in the US, is characterized by lower brand loyalty and rapidly changing consumption patterns compared to previous generations. Accordingly, the ‘TIGER US Consumer Trend Active ETF’ targets new consumer trends led by the MZ generation by utilizing a systematic and active investment strategy, rather than a passive strategy that simply tracks companies with high brand recognition or top market capitalization stocks.
To analyze the consumption patterns of the MZ generation more precisely, the ‘TIGER US Consumer Trend Active ETF’ uses various alternative data. It analyzes diverse data such as consumer payment amounts, visit rates, search volumes, and purchase intention surveys through big data platforms like Google Trends, Nielsen, and Bloomberg Second Measure to capture rapidly changing consumer trends early.
As of the 17th, major investment stocks include ▲ Affirm Holdings, a leading US buy-now-pay-later service company ▲ DoorDash, the largest US food delivery platform ▲ Shopify, the largest US e-commerce website creation platform ▲ On Holding, rapidly growing with the learning trend ▲ Cava Group, a Mediterranean restaurant chain.
The US consumer market, which struggled last year due to high inflation and high interest rates, is expected to rebound this year. With interest rate cuts anticipated and former President Trump's America-first policies added, consumer sentiment is expected to improve further.
Seungjik Yang, Senior Manager at Mirae Asset Global Investments Research Center, said, "From a long-term perspective, US interest rates will eventually decline, and this year could be an investment opportunity," adding, "As a rebound in the US consumer market is expected, if you want to diversify your investments, we recommend the ‘TIGER US Consumer Trend Active ETF.’"
To commemorate the new ETF launch, Mirae Asset Global Investments is holding a listing celebration event for trading customers. Customers who meet certain trading conditions for the ETF at Daishin Securities and Eugene Securities will be entered into a draw to receive cultural gift certificates.
