View original imageOn the 13th (local time), at the Riyadh Golf Club (par 72, 6,680 yards) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Lee shot a 7-under-par 65 in the first round of the PIF Saudi Ladies International (total prize money $5 million) to top the leaderboard.
Lee So-mi made eight birdies and one bogey. She edged out Esther Henseleit (Germany) and Annabel Fuller (England), who are tied for second place at 6-under-par 66, by one stroke. Lee So-mi competes on the LPGA Tour. This year, she has yet to find a sponsor and is wearing a 'plain hat.'

Kim Min-sun started tied for fourth place (5-under-par 67). World No. 4 Gino Tiitikun (Thailand) is also in this group. Yoon In-na, who missed the cut at last week's LPGA Tour debut at the Founders Cup, is tied for 20th place (3-under-par 69). Defending champion Patty Tavatanakit (Thailand), Charley Hull (England), and Lee Dong-eun are also tied for 20th. World No. 3 Lin Yining (China) finished tied for 95th place (3-over-par 75).
