The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on February 12 that Minister Yoo In-chon sent a congratulatory message to ballet dancer Park Yoonjae, who won first place at the 53rd Prix de Lausanne, expressing his congratulations and encouragement.
In his message, Minister Yoo stated, "The outstanding skill and artistry demonstrated by Park Yoonjae have deeply moved our people, and his achievement as the first Korean male dancer to win the competition, as well as being named the Most Promising Young Talent, has greatly inspired many artists." Ballet dancer Park Yoonjae won the competition at the age of 16 by performing the classical ballet "Flames of Paris" and the contemporary ballet "Rain" in the finals of the Prix de Lausanne. He was recognized for his talent early on while studying ballet at the Korea National Institute for the Gifted in Arts under the Korea National University of Arts during his elementary school years, and he is currently attending Seoul Arts High School.
