Anseong Ayang Library Operates 'After-School Library' Program with Seniors
Linked with Senior Employment Project
Ayang Library in Anseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, will operate the 'After-School Library' program with senior reading instructors year-round starting from the 10th.
This program, linked to the senior job project, involves seniors qualified as reading instructors who individually guide and manage elementary school students to continuously read books at the library after school.
The participants are elementary school students of all grades who have registered as library members. Every last Monday of the month, 36 participants are recruited on a first-come, first-served basis online through the Anseong City Library website, and the program operates four times a week.

Opened in 2020, Ayang Library in Anseong-si is equipped with a general reference room, a children's reference room, and an English experiential fairy tale village. Gong Jeong-ja, head of Anseong City Library, stated, "Through this program, we aim not only to help children develop reading habits but also to make the library a place created together with local residents."
