People Power Party: "9.9 Billion KRW Current Account Surplus Becomes a Concern... Constitutional Court Should Dismiss Han Deok-su's Impeachment"
The People Power Party argued on the 9th that the Constitutional Court must dismiss the impeachment of Prime Minister Han Duck-soo in order to effectively respond to trade negotiations between Korea and the United States.
Ham In-kyung, spokesperson for the People Power Party, stated in a commentary that "Last year, South Korea recorded a current account surplus of $99 billion, the second highest ever, but there is a reason we cannot simply celebrate," adding, "This is because the United States is building a justification for imposing tariffs by claiming trade imbalances."
This pointed to the reality where U.S. President Donald Trump has been continuing summits with various countries using tariffs as a negotiation card.

He criticized, "On the 7th, Japan secured a strong position in negotiations with President Trump through preemptive measures by promising increased defense spending, expanded investment in the U.S., and increased energy imports at the U.S.-Japan summit, but we are stuck in a frustrating situation amid a diplomatic vacuum."

He especially emphasized the necessity of Prime Minister Han. Spokesperson Ham mentioned, "The Prime Minister has played a key role in U.S. trade and diplomacy in past administrations." He added, "The Democratic Party, knowing that a storm is approaching a ship without a captain, even tied up and confined the remaining crew members," and urged, "The Constitutional Court must immediately dismiss the impeachment against Prime Minister Han."
