Securing Core Technologies for Carbon Neutrality and Digital Transformation
LS Cable & System announced on the 6th that it will hold the '5th Technology Contest' to secure future growth engines.
Through this contest, the company plans to develop new technologies applicable across the cable industry, such as cable material recycling and battery system materials. Research on digital transformation technologies to be integrated into the production process will also be conducted simultaneously. The main contest areas include electric vehicle (EV) electronic battery system materials, eco-friendly power cable materials, digital twin technology, and monitoring and automation technologies utilizing robots, vision, and terahertz.

In particular, the company expects that the monitoring technology using robots can be utilized by LS Marine Solution to advance its subsea cable monitoring services. Applications for the contest will be accepted on the LS Cable & System website until March 10. LS Cable & System stated, "Our goal is to secure core technologies that will lead the future market through active research and development (R&D) investment," adding, "We will proactively respond to changes in the industrial environment such as carbon neutrality and digital transformation to secure new growth engines."
