40s Arrested for 253 Drunken Disturbances in Changwon Over the Past Year
Shouting and Breaking CCTV at Police Substation
A man in his 40s who caused disturbances and broke objects while intoxicated, with over 250 reports filed against him in the past year, was arrested after causing a ruckus at a police substation.
The Masan Jungbu Police Station in Gyeongnam announced on the 6th that they had arrested Mr. A, a man in his 40s, on charges of public intoxication disturbance at a government office and damage to public property.
According to the police, Mr. A is accused of visiting the Odong Police Substation of Masan Jungbu Police Station at around 2:45 a.m. on the 3rd, expressing dissatisfaction with how a previous intoxication disturbance case was handled, shouting that he wanted to meet the officer in charge, and obstructing official duties.
During this incident, he struck and damaged the closed-circuit television (CCTV) installed at the entrance of the substation with his hand and was arrested on the spot.
It was confirmed that Mr. A habitually caused intoxication disturbances mainly in the early morning hours around the entertainment district in Masanhappo-gu.
Over the past year, Mr. A has been involved in 253 reported cases, including not paying for drinks or food after drinking and getting into disputes with other customers.
Considering the repeated reports of intoxication disturbances involving Mr. A, the police, together with nearby substations, have been tracking all the reports related to him.
Subsequently, on the 4th, they applied for an arrest warrant for Mr. A and received the warrant the following day, the 5th.
