222 New Fisheries Business Managers to Be Selected

View original imageThe Jeollanam-do Institute of Marine and Fisheries Science announced on the 6th that it is accepting applications for candidates for the ‘2025 Fisheries Business Manager Selection and Support Project’ until the 28th.
Eligibility for application as a future fisheries successor is those who are at least 18 years old but under 50 as of January 1, 2025, and either have no experience in fisheries or have less than 10 years of experience.
Outstanding managers must be under 60 years old, have obtained a fisheries license, permit, or registration, have been selected as a fisheries successor, and have managed in the selected field for at least five consecutive years, or have been selected as a New Knowledge in Fisheries.
This year, 222 new fisheries business managers will be selected, including 186 future fisheries successors and 36 outstanding managers.
The application fields include: ▲Fishing vessel construction/purchase, fishing gear/equipment purchase, etc. for fishing vessel operations ▲Land purchase, construction/purchase/renovation of fish farms, purchase of broodstock/seeds, etc. for aquaculture ▲Land purchase, seafood storage/processing/sales facilities, transport vehicles/equipment, etc. for seafood processing and distribution ▲Construction/renovation of salt field facilities, purchase of salt fields, manufacturing and processing facilities, etc. for salt production.
Future fisheries successors can receive up to 500 million KRW in loans (5-year grace period, 20-year equal installment repayment), and outstanding managers up to 200 million KRW (5-year grace period, 10-year equal installment repayment).
Applicants should prepare the required documents, such as the application form, business plan, and credit report in advance, and apply in person at the relevant Jeonnam Institute of Marine and Fisheries Science branch (9 locations) according to their business address.
