Namwon City Conducts Blood Tests for Alzheimer's Dementia Risk

The Namwon City Public Health Center in Jeonbuk (Director Han Yongjae) announced on the 5th that it will conduct "Alzheimer's Dementia Risk Blood Tests" for citizens aged 60 to 70.
This blood test measures the "beta-amyloid concentration" in the blood with just a single blood draw, enabling early identification of individuals at risk for dementia that may develop in 10 to 15 years. The test is free of charge, with all costs covered by Namwon City.

View original imageThe test is available to the first 2,000 applicants and will be conducted from the 10th of this month until the end of next month.
Residents of eup and myeon areas can receive the test at 40 designated locations, including local administrative welfare centers, public health branches, and health clinics, on the specified dates for each region. Residents of dong areas who wish to participate can visit Namwon Medical Center directly to receive both the Cognitive Impairment Screening Test (CIST) and the blood test at the same time.
Director Han Yongjae stated, "We will kindly provide counseling on the test results to all participants and guide them on how to use the city-developed mobile dementia prevention education app 'Gieokhari,' so that everyone can receive cognitive training anytime and anywhere. We are committed to providing thorough follow-up care to help establish dementia-preventing lifestyle habits."
