Dongwon Group announced on the 4th that it has appointed Vice President Park Sang-jin as the new CEO of the Dongwon Industrial business division. Min Eun-hong, who previously led the Dongwon Industrial business division, was promoted to President and moved to the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of StarKist.

Dongwon Group made this personnel change to strengthen the expertise of the Dongwon Industrial business division and to accelerate the overseas business growth of StarKist and Dongwon Group affiliates.
New CEO Park Sang-jin joined Dongwon Industrial in 1998 and has built his expertise as a marine and fisheries specialist, having worked in sales, finance, planning, and eventually becoming the head of the Marine and Fisheries Headquarters. Dongwon Group plans to hold a shareholders' meeting on the 26th of next month to appoint Vice President Park as an inside director, followed by a board meeting to officially appoint him as CEO.
CEO Min Eun-hong gained overseas business experience as the regional head for six Asian countries including Singapore and Malaysia at Procter & Gamble (P&G). With the nine-year-long product price-fixing dispute involving StarKist fully resolved through a civil settlement last year, StarKist is expected to accelerate growth in the North American market and actively pursue synergy with domestic affiliates.

A Dongwon Group official stated, "This personnel change was made to strengthen expertise by business division and secure future competitiveness," adding, "We will solidify the foundation of our business through management efficiency and actively invest in discovering new growth engines."
