Sam Altman Visiting Korea, Meeting Krafton After Samsung, SK, and Kakao
Meeting with Kim Changhan, CEO of Krafton
Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT, will visit Korea on the 4th and meet with Kim Chang-han, CEO of Krafton.
According to industry sources on the 3rd, CEO Altman is scheduled to attend a private workshop called "Builder Lab" for domestic companies and startup developers at the Plaza Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, on the morning of the 4th, followed by a meeting with CEO Kim. The discussion is expected to focus on Krafton's recently unveiled AI-integrated character CPC (Co-Playable Character) and automation in the game development process.
Krafton signed a contract with OpenAI last year and has provided "ChatGPT Enterprise" to all its employees. Since 2021, the company has invested over 100 billion KRW in securing AI talent and conducting fundamental technology research and development (R&D).
Additionally, during his visit, CEO Altman is reported to make a surprise appearance at a press conference held by Jeong Sin-ah, CEO of Kakao, at the same venue, where a collaboration with Kakao is expected to be announced. He is also scheduled to meet with prominent figures in the Korean business community, including Chey Tae-won, chairman of SK Group, and executives from Samsung Electronics. Furthermore, he will visit Seoul National University, where domestic semiconductor researchers are gathered, and participate in a "Q&A with OpenAI" hosted by the university's AI researchers.
