Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries Strengthens Port Safety and Security Management During Seol Holiday
The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries will implement a 'Special Port Operation Plan' at major ports nationwide starting from the 27th to ensure that domestic export-import companies and shipping companies can smoothly use the ports during the Lunar New Year holiday period.
Except for the day of Lunar New Year itself, stevedores and port labor unions will operate a continuous work system to provide normal port services such as cargo handling. Additionally, if necessary, an emergency contact network will be utilized to support cargo handling of important goods such as industrial essential resources even on the Lunar New Year day.
Along with this, the 'Shipping Port Logistics Information System (PORT-MIS)' will be operated normally to support vessel arrivals and departures during the holiday period, and essential port services such as tugboat and pilot services, port service businesses, and ship fuel supply will be provided without disruption.
The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries will operate a special port safety inspection period (21st to 27th) to prevent port safety accidents that may occur during the holiday period, checking for issues such as malfunctions of cargo handling equipment due to winter temperature drops, measures to prevent cargo truck slipping accidents, and countermeasures against cold-related illnesses among workers.
