He will participate in the PGA Tour AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am (total prize money $20 million), held at Pebble Beach Golf Links in California, USA, starting on the 30th (local time). He injured his hand while preparing for a Christmas party at home at the end of last year and has not competed in any tournaments this season. He even underwent a procedure to remove glass shards embedded in his right palm.
Scheffler said, "The surgery went well, and my condition is good. For a while, I changed my son's diapers with my left hand and brushed my teeth with my left hand. I prepared for my comeback by doing various lower body training." Last year, he swept an impressive seven wins on the PGA Tour. In addition, he won the gold medal at the Paris Olympics, sweeping the money list, most wins, and Player of the Year honors.
The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am is the second designated premium event of the year. Eighty players will compete without a cut to determine the rankings. World No. 3 Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland) will also participate. He missed the January tournament due to competing in the DP World Tour event in the Middle East. This will be McIlroy’s first PGA Tour event of the new year.
