In particular, since this is a period with heavy travel such as homecoming visitors, he emphasized the need to carefully review traffic measures once again and to thoroughly inspect the emergency medical system so that citizens do not experience difficulties in using medical institutions during the holiday period, especially in light of the recent outbreak of respiratory diseases such as influenza.
He also instructed measures to prevent any inconvenience in garbage collection, which is closely related to citizens' daily lives, and urged active promotion of measures that can enhance citizen convenience, such as normal operation of major tourist facilities and free use of public parking lots at traditional markets, focusing efforts to stabilize livelihoods and revitalize local commercial districts.
Furthermore, Mayor Lee ordered thorough safety inspections of traditional markets and multi-use facilities where crowds gather, and called for flawless measures in cooperation with related organizations to prevent forest fires and ensure citizens can have a safe holiday.
Mayor Lee Kang-deok said, “Pohang city officials will do their utmost without any gaps in their respective positions to ensure that both Pohang citizens and homecoming visitors have a joyful and safe holiday.”
