Lotte Homeshopping Delivers Holiday Foods to 200 Underprivileged Households in Yeongdeungpo-gu
Provision of "Happiness Packages"
Including Tteokguk Ingredients, Side Dishes, and Fruits
Lotte Homeshopping announced on January 23 that, ahead of the Lunar New Year holidays, it delivered "Happiness Packages" consisting of holiday foods to 200 underprivileged households in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.
Employees of Lotte Homeshopping, together with volunteers from the Yeongdeungpo-gu Social Welfare Council, distributed the Happiness Packages-which included ingredients for tteokguk (rice cake soup), side dishes, and fruits that can be easily prepared-to 200 underprivileged households in Yeongdeungpo-gu. Taking into account the longer-than-usual Lunar New Year holiday this year due to the designation of a temporary public holiday, they prepared an ample amount of festive foods.

The program aims to help elderly people living alone spend a warm Lunar New Year. Hope Suragan is an ongoing sharing activity that regularly prepares and delivers side dishes to underprivileged groups.
Previously, in 2015, Lotte Homeshopping established a dedicated kitchen facility called Hope Suragan within Yeongdeungpo-gu Office and has since been preparing and delivering side dishes to local underprivileged residents on a regular basis. During Lunar New Year and Chuseok, they provide festive foods; in summer, health-boosting meals; and in winter, kimchi for the season, as well as other essential foods and daily necessities. To date, they have delivered a total of 415 rounds of side dishes, amounting to over 67,000 portions.
In November of last year, they delivered 600 heads of kimchi to underprivileged households in Yeongdeungpo-gu, and in July, ahead of the hottest days of summer, they supported 225 vulnerable households with items such as air circulators and portable fans to help them stay healthy during the season. Going forward, the company plans to continue and expand its sharing activities, providing customized support for the elderly living alone and other marginalized groups in welfare blind spots.
