Jeonnam Province Announces This Year's Project Orders Worth 1 Trillion Won
73% of Projects, Worth 855.5 Billion Won, Planned for the First Half
Focus on Revitalizing the Local Economy
Jeonnam Province has announced its 2024 project bidding plans for construction, services, and goods worth a total of 1 trillion won on the provincial website (Accounting Division Data Room) and the Public Procurement Service (Nara Marketplace).
The projected scale of Jeonnam Province's 2025 projects includes construction at 994.5 billion won, services at 150.7 billion won, and goods at 30.5 billion won, totaling 941 projects and 1.1757 trillion won. This represents an increase of 262.7 billion won compared to last year's 913 billion won.

In addition, to help revitalize the local economy, 855.5 billion won, or 73% of the total projects, will be initiated in the first half of the year.
Major projects include 19 river disaster prevention projects such as Guamcheon, totaling 524.4 billion won; two disaster risk improvement district maintenance projects including Hampyeong Eomdacheon District, totaling 76.2 billion won; and the Gwangyang Customs Sepung Industrial Complex development project at 114.4 billion won, among others.
The total scale of project bidding by the 22 cities and counties is 11,964 projects worth 3.2471 trillion won, an increase of 242.7 billion won from last year's 3.0044 trillion won. The bidding plans for cities and counties have also been disclosed on their respective websites.
Ko Mikyung, Director of the Autonomous Administration Bureau of Jeonnam Province, stated, "Local companies are facing significant difficulties due to the ongoing economic downturn," and added, "We will do our utmost to help revitalize the local economy by actively utilizing systems that encourage local company participation and by initiating early bidding in the first half of the year."
