Seosan City to Provide 400,000 Won Welfare Points Each to 630 Small and Medium Business Workers

View original imageSeosan City in Chungnam announced on the 22nd that it will provide 400,000 won in welfare points to each of 630 employees of local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in celebration of the Lunar New Year.
These welfare points will be distributed through the Seosan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the trustee organization of the Chungnam Joint Welfare Fund No. 6, to employees of 34 companies affiliated with the corporation.
The Chungnam Joint Welfare Fund No. 6 was established in May 2023 to address differences in wages and welfare levels in the labor market according to company size and employment type.
Seosan City, the central government, Chungcheongnam-do Province, and local SMEs jointly formed this fund, which provides a total of 1 million won worth of welfare points annually in Seosan Love Gift Certificates, distributed three times a year during Lunar New Year, Chuseok, and Labor Day.
The city contributed 248 million won in 2023 and 252 million won in 2024, helping to improve the working conditions of SME employees.
Mayor Lee Wan-seop said, "The operation of the Chungnam Joint Employee Welfare Fund No. 6, established to improve welfare conditions for SME workers in the region, is progressing smoothly," and added, "If there is additional demand for establishing more corporations in the future, we will actively attract them to further enhance employee welfare."
