Global IB Actively Adopts Generative AI: "Will Handle Tasks Without Human Intervention"
Goldman Sachs Plans to Provide AI Assistant to All Employees
Global investment banks (IBs) are actively adopting generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology to enhance employee work capabilities, NBC reported on the 21st (local time).
According to NBC, Goldman Sachs has distributed an AI program called 'GS AI Assistant' to about 10,000 employees. NBC reported that Goldman Sachs plans to provide the GS AI Assistant to all employees within the company by the end of this year.
This AI program is designed to provide task-specific customized responses based on data input into models such as OpenAI's ChatGPT. Marco Argenti, Goldman Sachs' Chief Information Officer (CIO), said, "AI will be able to develop detailed plans in the way experienced Goldman Sachs employees work," adding, "Conversations with this program feel like talking to another employee at the company."
He continued, "AI absorbs capabilities such as how actual employees verify work using various data or calculate with specific algorithms," and added, "The next 3 to 5 years, when the boundary between humans and AI is expected to become blurred, is the most anticipated."
Besides Goldman Sachs, other global major investment banks such as JP Morgan Chase and Morgan Stanley have already introduced generative AI into their operations. NBC explained that with Goldman Sachs' recent move, all three of the world's top investment banks are actively incorporating generative AI technology into their employees' work.
