Dong-A University Career Development Center Holds Performance Presentation and Awards Ceremony
Encouraging Students Participating in Career Peer Mentoring and Career Club Programs
Sharing Overall Achievements
The Career Development Center of Dong-A University’s Student and Employment Support Office (Director Jo Gyu-pan) held the ‘2024 2nd Semester Performance Presentation and Awards Ceremony.’
The awards ceremony was organized to encourage students who participated in programs such as ‘Career Peer Mentoring’ and ‘Career Clubs’ over the past three months and to share the overall achievements of the Career Development Center.
The ceremony, held at Kyungdong Hall in the College of Humanities on Dong-A University’s Seunghak Campus, was attended by Director Jo Gyu-pan, Professor Bang Hee-won, and the award-winning students.
The Career Peer Mentoring program aimed to help students develop communication skills and solve career-related issues through counseling activities, thereby strengthening their individual career competencies and broadening their perspectives on careers. Seventeen ‘Leaders (Career Mentors)’ and nineteen ‘Daum (Career Mentees)’ completed the program.
At the awards ceremony, the ‘Excellent Career Portfolio Award’ in Career Peer Mentoring was given to students Gwak Seo-young (Department of Media Communication), Son Chae-young (Department of Food and Life Sciences), Han Bo-min (Department of Food and Life Sciences), and Hong So-yoon (Department of Education). The ‘Best Couple Award’ was presented to pairs Lee Chae-eun (Department of Food and Nutrition) & Noh Hye-in (Department of Food and Nutrition), Moon Ki-won (Department of Architectural Engineering) & Kim Eun-soo (Department of Architectural Engineering), and Yoon Jung-woon (Department of Electrical Engineering) & Yeo Chan-wook (Department of Electrical Engineering).
Lee Chae-eun, a recipient of the Best Couple Award from the Department of Food and Nutrition, said, “I am grateful to my Daum friend who trusted the leader and participated enthusiastically. It was an opportunity to grow together with my Daum friend.”
Noh Hye-in, also from the Department of Food and Nutrition, said, “Through mentoring, my understanding of the department increased, and I was able to spend valuable time and grow personally. It has also given me more passion for planning my future career.”
The Career Club program was operated by forming teams in the fields of career exploration and career planning to achieve career goals. This semester, a total of 26 teams with 116 members completed the program, and among them, 9 teams with 40 members received awards.
The Grand Prize was awarded to the ‘Anyway! (Team Leader Park Jun-ik, Department of Industrial Management Engineering)’ team, and the Excellence Awards went to two teams: ‘Night Autonomous Driving Study (Team Leader Kim Seung-hwan, Department of Electronic Engineering)’ and ‘GTQ, Hanbang-e Q (Team Leader Park Joo-hyun, Department of Media Communication).’
The Encouragement Awards were given to six teams: ‘我?? (Team Leader Kim Min-kyung, Department of Chinese Studies),’ ‘TOEIC Until Vomiting (Team Leader Choi Mi-so, Department of Public Administration),’ ‘The Temptation of Functions (Team Leader Shim Ga-hyun, Department of Environmental and Energy Engineering),’ ‘Tandanji (Team Leader Yeo Jeong-yoon, Department of Food and Nutrition),’ ‘RRT (Team Leader Kim Jong-woo, Department of Electronic Engineering),’ and ‘Dongpoly (Team Leader Jeon Soo-hyun, Department of Police Science).’
Park Jun-ik, leader of the Grand Prize-winning ‘Anyway!’ team, said, “As the team leader, I led the career club for eight sessions and gained valuable experiences with my team members. The process of understanding and caring for each other created great synergy, which was truly meaningful.”
