Two suspects who broke into the Seoul Western District Court and assaulted police officers after an arrest warrant was issued for President Yoon Suk-yeol have been detained.

View original imageOn the 21st, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced that out of five individuals charged with obstructing official duties, including assaulting police officers the previous day, two were detained. The remaining three were released without detention due to no concerns of evidence tampering or flight risk.
The police applied for arrest warrants for 66 people arrested for illegal acts such as breaking into the Western District Court, blocking vehicles of the High-ranking Officials’ Crime Investigation Unit (Gonggiwon), and assaulting police officers between the 18th and 19th.
The Seoul Western District Prosecutors’ Office requested arrest warrants for 63 individuals, excluding two suspects charged with trespassing and one charged with obstructing official duties.
