Osan-si Implements Price Stabilization Measures for Lunar New Year Holiday
16 Essential Items Selected for Special Management
10% Incentive Provided for Local Currency
Osan City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 21st that it will implement price stabilization measures focused on essential goods in anticipation of price increases in agricultural and marine products and seasonal inflation ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.
The city first selected 16 essential items for the Lunar New Year, including ceremonial goods, as special management targets. It will conduct price surveys and check compliance with origin labeling in four sectors: agricultural products, livestock products, forest products, and marine products, while simultaneously conducting food safety guidance and inspections. The crackdown on unfair trade practices will also be strengthened to prevent unfair activities in advance.
Support measures to revitalize the use of traditional markets have also been prepared. The local currency "Osaekjeon" will provide a 10% incentive until the budget is exhausted, and in cooperation with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, a discount of up to 35% will be offered when purchasing digital (card-type and mobile) Onnuri gift certificates.
For Onnuri gift certificates, ▲purchase discount (15%) ▲refund events (15%) ▲online traditional market discount coupons (5%) will be provided to help citizens purchase holiday essential goods at reasonable prices.
While intensively inspecting the price labeling system and origin labeling compliance in traditional markets and shopping districts, the city will also conduct a campaign to promote the use of traditional markets in cooperation with local merchant associations and consumer groups.
Until the 30th, during the Lunar New Year holiday period, parking will be allowed for up to 2 hours on roads around traditional markets to support citizens in conveniently using the traditional markets.
