Reception Event Scheduled at Golf Club
Donald Trump, the President-elect of the United States, will arrive in Washington DC on the 18th (local time) ahead of his inauguration on the 20th. This marks his return to the U.S. capital after four years since leaving the White House in January 2021 following his defeat in the 2020 presidential election.
Trump, who has been staying at his Mar-a-Lago resort residence in Florida, boarded an Air Force plane in the afternoon to travel from Palm Beach to Dulles Airport in Virginia, near Washington DC.
Upon arrival, he is scheduled to hold a reception and fireworks event at his golf club in Sterling, Virginia.
About 500 supporters, friends, and backers are expected to attend the event, which will feature performances by Elvis Presley impersonator Leo Days and opera singer Christopher Machio, who is set to sing the national anthem at the inauguration, according to Reuters.
Vice President-elect J.D. Vance will attend a reception and dinner event for cabinet secretary nominees and others that evening.
