The U.S. government stated, following the issuance of an arrest warrant for South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol on charges of leading an insurrection related to the declaration of martial law, that "we reaffirm our shared commitment to the rule of law (between the U.S. and South Korea)."
On the 19th, the U.S. Department of State, in a response signed by a spokesperson to an email inquiry from Yonhap News regarding President Yoon's arrest, said, "The United States' support for the people of South Korea is steadfast," expressing this position.
