View original imagePresident Yoon Suk-yeol, immediately after an arrest warrant was issued on the 17th on charges of "leading a rebellion and abuse of authority," conveyed through his lawyer, "I am doing well in the detention center," and expressed "gratitude for the patriotism of the people."
Yoon's lawyer, Yoon Gap-geun, announced to the media at around 6:15 p.m. that day, "This is a letter from President Yoon to the people through his lawyer at Seoul Detention Center," consisting of 196 characters.
In the letter, President Yoon said, "Hello, fellow citizens. Although it is a bit uncomfortable, I am doing well in the detention center," and added, "I have been calming my mind and reflecting on the state affairs I have overseen by rereading the speeches I have given to the people, including my presidential inauguration speech, the March 1st Movement and Liberation Day commemorative speeches, and national addresses."
He continued, "I have heard that many citizens have come out into the cold streets to unite their strength for the country," and expressed, "I am grateful for the passionate patriotism of the people."

Fellow citizens, hello. Although it is a bit uncomfortable, I am doing well in the detention center.
From my presidential inauguration speech to the March 1st Movement, Liberation Day commemorative speeches, and national addresses, I have been rereading the words I have delivered to the people, calming my mind, and reflecting on the state affairs I have overseen.
I have heard that many citizens have come out into the cold streets to unite their strength for the country.
