This Baeksu Coastal Road forest management project covers an area of 36 hectares over a 16.8km section. The project began on the 20th of last month and will continue until the 24th of this month.
Currently, the main focus is on thinning, removal of vines, and clearing of dead or unwanted trees in the forests surrounding Baeksu Coastal Road. The goal is to enhance the visual beauty and natural charm of the coastal forest landscape for visitors, while also preserving the ecological value of native tree species.
In particular, 551 Amur Cork Trees planted in 2022 near the 365 Stairs of Baeksu Coastal Road are notable for their vibrant yellow flowers and unique seed pods. In about five years, during the blooming season from June to July, these trees are expected to create a striking wave of yellow blossoms, offering a new attraction.
A county official stated, "By conducting forest management and year-round mowing along Baeksu Coastal Road, we aim to maintain a clean forest landscape, improve visitor satisfaction, and create a healthy forest ecosystem to return to our residents."
