Park Ansoo, Army Chief of Staff, Faces Lack of Senior Members for Review Committee
Alternatives Such as Suspension Pending Prosecution Considered Instead of Dismissal
The Ministry of National Defense is scheduled to hold a dismissal review for commanders involved in the emergency martial law situation.
According to the Ministry of National Defense on the 17th, the dismissal review for Commander Yeo In-hyung of the Counterintelligence Command, Commander Lee Jin-woo of the Capital Defense Command, Commander Kwak Jong-geun of the Special Warfare Command, and Commander Moon Sang-ho of the Intelligence Command will be held on the 20th. The Ministry explained, "Personnel measures regarding General Park An-soo, Chief of Staff of the Army, are still under review according to relevant laws and regulations and have not yet been decided."
The Ministry of National Defense had previously notified each commander individually on the 10th about the initiation of the dismissal review. The dismissal review is held after ten days to ensure the right to defense.

In the case of General Park, due to the relevant regulation requiring the review committee to be composed of at least three senior members compared to the review subjects, and the lack of sufficient senior members, alternatives such as suspension pending prosecution are being considered instead of dismissal.
