Successfully Welcoming the New Year with Over 1,500 Residents and Dignitaries at Gwanak Art Hall on the 16th
Great Response to Various Cultural Performances Including Calligraphy with Residents
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) held the '2025 New Year's Greeting Meeting' on the 16th at Gwanak Art Hall, attended by over 1,500 people including residents, various dignitaries, and representatives of professional organizations.
The event opened with various cultural performances celebrating the start of the new year, supported by the enthusiastic participation and encouragement of many residents.
During the event, the district screened a video containing the New Year's wishes of the residents. After watching the video, one resident shared, "It was heartwarming to see people from all generations, from children to the elderly, as well as residents working in diverse fields such as police officers, firefighters, and small business owners, wishing for happiness for themselves and everyone during these challenging times."
The event continued with New Year's greetings and well-wishes from Park Jun-hee, Mayor of Gwanak-gu, the chairman of the Gwanak-gu Council, members of the National Assembly, and leaders of various political parties.
In his New Year's address, Mayor Park outlined the 2025 district administration tasks, including ▲ creating a healing and garden city where residents are happy ▲ strengthening customized welfare according to life cycles ▲ fostering an innovative economic city ▲ establishing a reliable and safe living environment ▲ and building a city that shines through education and culture.
At the end of the event, writer Kim So-young presented a calligraphy performance, writing the message "A fruitful 2025 from dreams planted together" with brush lettering.
Following this, Mayor Park and Bae Jeong-ung, chairman of the Gwanak-gu branch of the Korea Senior Citizens Association, stamped a seal inscribed with "Hopeful Gwanak" on a canvas, concluding the New Year's Greeting Meeting.
