"ESG Academy graduates can obtain certification"
More than 3,200 have earned ESG expert credentials over four years
The Korea Economic Association announced on the 16th that over the past four years, more than 3,200 graduates of the ESG Academy at the Korea Economic Association International Business Institute have obtained ESG expert certifications.
Since 2021, the Institute has launched the ESG Academy in collaboration with Kim & Chang Law Office, Deloitte Anjin Accounting Firm, PR One, and others. They have provided online and offline training targeting large, medium-sized, small, and financial companies.
Graduates of the academy can acquire the "Korea Economic Association ESG Expert Certification," approved by the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training. The certification covers eight major ESG subjects, including environment, society, governance, and supply chain.
A representative from the Korea Economic Association explained, "Not only companies but also practitioners from local governments, research institutes, and facility corporations are obtaining the certification. In particular, there is an increasing number of university students acquiring the certification to enhance their employment competitiveness."
The Institute announced that it has introduced a group registration system starting this year. The policy aims to support companies in systematically strengthening ESG capabilities at the organizational level.
Na Hyung-geun, Deputy Director of the Institute, stated, "As the global trend toward mandatory ESG disclosure expands, strengthening ESG capabilities is essential. We will support companies in implementing ESG management that meets international standards."
