Hankyung Association Holds 5th Global Economic Issues Response Executive Council Meeting
Discussion on the Korean Economic Community's Response to the Launch of the Trump 2.0 Administration

The Korea Economic Association announced on the 16th that it held the '5th Global Economic Issue Response Executive Council' at the FKI Tower in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, inviting members of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee. The purpose was to share the current status and information on corporate investment in the U.S. with politicians attending the inauguration of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump next week.

Also participating were Kim Young-bae, opposition party (Democratic Party) secretary of the Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee, Democratic Party members Jo Jeong-sik and Hong Ki-won, ruling party secretary Kim Geon, and Kim Ki-hyun of the People Power Party.
The council was held under the theme "Response of the Korean Economic Community to the Launch of the U.S. Donald Trump 2.0 New Administration." The Korea Economic Association stated, "The council was held to share the current status of our companies' investment in the U.S. and key issues with members of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee, who are scheduled to attend President-elect Trump's inauguration next week."
The Trump administration's second term, which will officially begin after the inauguration, is expected to rapidly decide many policies from the early stages. Our companies are closely monitoring this, and swift responses at the political and economic levels are necessary.

Vice Chairman Kim Chang-beom of the Korea Economic Association emphasized in his opening remarks, "All economic actors in the Republic of Korea must exert their full efforts with a 'one team' spirit," adding, "The diplomatic role of lawmakers has become more important than ever."
