Namyangju City Promotes Construction Cost Support Project for Aged Houses
Improving Citizens' Living Environment
by Resolving Rusty Water Issues
Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 15th that it will officially implement the ‘2025 Aged Residential Indoor Water Supply Pipe Construction Cost Support Project’ starting in January to provide citizens with a clean and safe water usage environment.
This project is part of Gyeonggi Province’s ‘Our Home Without Rust Project,’ and the city plans to invest about 400 million KRW this year to support construction costs for approximately 400 households using aged indoor pipes and shared pipes.
The support targets residential buildings or social welfare facilities with an area of 130㎡ or less where rust water occurs due to internal corrosion of water pipes. Buildings that have received support under this project within the last five years, buildings approved for projects such as reconstruction, and buildings in areas with planned development such as maintenance zones are excluded from support.
Namyangju City plans to focus on resolving the issue of water quality deterioration caused by aged pipes through this project and creating an environment where citizens can use water with peace of mind, thereby enhancing their quality of life.
