Jeonnam Province has actively encouraged the use of donation points amounting to 56 million won that were generated from hometown love donations but remain unused.

According to Jeollanam-do on the 13th, a total of 1.512 billion won was raised over two years, with 632 million won in 2023 and 880 million won in 2024, through donations to the Jeollanam-do Provincial Government.
As a result, 453 million won, which is 30% of the donation amount, was generated as Hometown Love e-eum donation points. Of this, it has been calculated that 397 million won worth of donation points have been used to purchase return gifts so far. The remaining 56 million won has not yet been used by donors and is currently dormant.
This is analyzed to be due to a surge in donations at the end of last year, with some donors intending to order return gifts at a time other than the year-end, which has delayed the use of their points.
Therefore, ahead of the Lunar New Year, Jeollanam-do is actively promoting the use of Hometown Love e-eum donation points, hoping that by encouraging the purchase of local return gifts, it will revitalize the recently struggling local economy and allow donors to enjoy a warm holiday with their families through these gifts.
Donors can check their donation points displayed at the top after logging into 'Hometown Love e-eum'. Donation points are stored in Hometown Love e-eum for five years, which is the validity period, and are deleted if the member withdraws from the service.
Kang Kyungmun, head of the Hometown Love Division at Jeollanam-do, said, "By using the donation points you may have forgotten or delayed using for the Lunar New Year, you can freely choose from over 300 return gifts from Jeollanam-do. The donation points used by donors are expected to greatly contribute to revitalizing the local economy."
Meanwhile, starting this year, the donation limit for the Hometown Love Donation Program has been raised from 5 million won to 20 million won.
