Seo-gu, Gwangju is recruiting a citizen participation group to act as partners in implementing a women-friendly city until the 22nd.
According to Seo-gu on the 10th, the citizen participation group has carried out various activities such as proposing policies reflecting women's perspectives, discovering women-friendly city projects, and monitoring women-friendly spaces and policies.

View original imageIn particular, last year, Seo-gu led proactive preventive activities against illegal filming, distribution, and spread in public restrooms through the Women’s Safety Guards composed of the citizen participation group, raising awareness of digital sex crimes and creating a safe restroom environment.
The recruitment is for 11 people, and anyone aged 19 or older residing in Seo-gu is eligible to apply by filling out an application form and submitting it in person to the Gender Equality Division of Seo-gu Office or via email.
Members of the citizen participation group can participate in various capacity-building trainings and workshops, and incentives such as a small activity allowance, recognition of volunteer hours, and awards for outstanding activities will be provided.
Kang Mi-sook, head of the Gender Equality Division, said, “We will support the citizen participation group to faithfully perform their main role of monitoring public services and practically reflect improvement requests in policies to enhance citizens’ sense of safety. We ask for the active participation of residents who will be partners for a women-friendly Seo-gu.”
