Yuseong Hoon, Geumcheon District Mayor, Presents '10-Year Happiness Strategy for Geumcheon in Their 30s'
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will hold the ‘2025 New Year Greeting Ceremony’ celebrating the 30th anniversary of its establishment on January 10th at 1:40 PM at the Geumnarae Art Hall performance venue.
At the New Year Greeting Ceremony, Mayor Yu Seong-hoon of Geumcheon-gu will deliver a presentation titled ‘The 10-Year Happiness Strategy for Geumcheon in Its 30s’ in celebration of the 30th anniversary. He will review the major achievements from before the district’s establishment to the present and share mid- to long-term policies and visions to be pursued with the residents.
Mayor Yu Seong-hoon sets the vision for the next 10 years as ‘Seoul’s Premier Economic City, a Happy City Where Neighbors Live in Harmony,’ announcing three future city models, six implementation strategies, and three main goals.
About 600 people, including Mayor Yu Seong-hoon, members of the National Assembly, the chairperson of the Geumcheon-gu Council, city and district council members, and residents, are expected to attend the event.
The event will begin with a musical gala concert prepared by the nonprofit organization ‘Haneul-e’ and a media daebuk (large drum) performance by the percussion group ‘Gori.’
Following this, the program will include ▲ screening of a special video commemorating the 30th anniversary ▲ presentation of the mayor’s 30-year future strategy drawn together with the community ▲ New Year’s greetings and deep bows from distinguished guests ▲ congratulatory performances.
The commemorative video will vividly capture the changes and achievements of Geumcheon-gu through interviews with residents of various ages and backgrounds. Residents born in 1995 when the district was established, restaurant owners, and three-generation families native to Geumcheon will share their thoughts on ‘What does Geumcheon mean to me?’ and ‘Important events that changed Geumcheon.’
A New Year photo zone will be set up in the event hall lobby, providing residents with a space to freely take commemorative photos and make New Year wishes.
Residents who cannot attend the event can watch it live on Geumcheon-gu’s official YouTube channel, and the event can also be viewed on the video display screen (Meteor Art Wall) in the first-floor lobby of the district office.
