Musical Actor Kai Completes 6-Month Grand World Tour Recital
Musical actor Kai successfully concluded his six-month world tour recital, 'KAI INTO THE WORLD,' with a performance in Busan.
'KAI INTO THE WORLD' began last May at Carnegie Hall in New York, USA, continued in November at the Toppan Hall in Tokyo, Japan, and wrapped up last month with a performance at the Geumjeong Cultural Center in Busan. It attracted much attention as the first world tour recital by a Korean musical actor.
The Busan performance of 'KAI INTO THE WORLD' was divided into four stages.
The first stage began with pianist Beomjae Lee's solo piano performance of the overture from the musical 'The Phantom of the Opera.' Kai then sang numbers from works produced by the great musical producer Cameron Mackintosh, including 'The Phantom of the Opera,' 'Cats,' 'Miss Saigon,' and 'Les Mis?rables.'
The second stage was themed 'Korean Original Musical Masterpieces,' where Kai performed numbers from 'Mata Hari,' 'Beethoven; Beethoven Secret,' 'Excalibur,' and 'The Man Who Laughs.'
The third stage featured musical numbers by Frank Wildhorn, a musical composer beloved by Koreans. The repertoire included 'The Count of Monte Cristo,' 'Dracula,' 'Cyrano,' and 'Jekyll & Hyde.'
