More than Half of Successful Candidates in Their 20s, 9% Aged 40 and Above
The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 7th that it has selected 294 final successful candidates for the '2024 3rd Seoul Metropolitan Government Local Civil Service Examination.' Half of the successful candidates are in their 20s. They passed the written exam held on November 2 last year and the interview exam conducted over three days from December 18 to 20, overcoming an average competition ratio of 53.6 to 1.
Among the 294 successful candidates, by rank, there are ▲246 at grade 7 ▲32 at grade 9 ▲16 researchers, and by job category, there are ▲187 administrative positions ▲91 technical positions ▲16 research positions.
The gender composition is 141 males (48.0%) and 153 females (52.0%), and the age composition is dominated by those in their 20s with 154 people (52.4%). Following the majority in their 20s, those in their 30s account for 27.9%, teenagers 10.9%, and those aged 40 and above 8.8%.
The youngest successful candidate was born in 2006 and was selected in the mechanical facilities (technical high school) grade 9 recruitment category, while the oldest successful candidate was born in 1969 and was selected in the general administration grade 7 recruitment category. In addition, to expand public service opportunities for socially disadvantaged groups, separate recruitment was conducted for candidates with disabilities and technical high school graduates (or expected graduates). Thirty-nine candidates, accounting for 13.3% of the successful candidates in this examination, passed. Among the 39, 7 passed the separate recruitment for persons with disabilities (grade 7), and 32 passed the separate recruitment for technical high school graduates (or expected graduates) (grade 9).

With this, the 2024 public recruitment schedule of the Seoul Metropolitan Government has concluded. In 2025, a total of two public recruitment exams are planned. The first written exam of this year will be held on June 21, and the second on November 1.
