Seongdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jung Won-oh) announced that the joint memorial altar installed at Wangsimni Station Plaza for the victims of the Jeju Air passenger plane accident will be extended until the 10th.
The district had planned to operate the joint memorial altar, installed on the north side of Wangsimni Station Plaza on December 30, 2024, until January 4, the national mourning period, but decided to extend the operation until the 10th in respect of the wishes of the bereaved families of the Jeju Air passenger plane accident victims.
As of 5 p.m. on January 3, more than 3,100 people have visited the Seongdong-gu joint memorial altar to pay their respects, with visitors continuing to come to share the grief and pain of the bereaved families.
The Seongdong-gu joint memorial altar will operate from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., the same hours as before, during the extended period, and anyone can visit to pay their respects.
