On this day, Han Sangwon, Chairman of the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chae Hwaseok, Executive Vice Chairman, Kim Kyungho, Managing Director, and other executives and staff members visited the joint memorial altar set up at the May 18 Democracy Square to express their condolences.
Chairman Han stated, "We deeply mourn those who lost their lives in this unimaginable tragedy, and we will not forget or fail to remember these precious individuals."
The Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry also decided to donate 20 million KRW to the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea to support the victims and bereaved families of this accident.
A representative of the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry said, "We sincerely offer our condolences to the victims and bereaved families who must be experiencing unimaginable pain and sorrow," and added, "We will continue to actively strive to provide any assistance we can in the future."
