On the 31st, Pohang City held the ‘2024 Year-End Ceremony’ at Daejam Hall in Munhwa-dong to encourage employees who worked hard for the development of city administration throughout the Gapjin year and to share the achievements of Pohang City.

The Adieu 2024 Pohang Sand Art performance attracted attention by expressing the brilliant times Pohang has gone through and the touching stories of Pohang City employees who created those times through sand art.
Additionally, there was a time to encourage employees dedicated to the development of city administration through awards for outstanding institutions in public service.
Mayor Lee Kang-deok said, “I am grateful for the hidden efforts of employees who quietly fulfilled their roles in their respective positions despite difficult circumstances this year,” and added, “Let us join forces again next year for the development of Pohang city administration.”

This year’s Pohang City year-end ceremony was held simply and solemnly due to the national mourning period declared following the passenger plane accident at Muan Airport. The ceremony began with a moment of silence to mourn the victims of the accident, and all public officials wore mourning ribbons to express their condolences.
