Seodaemun-gu, Organizational Restructuring to Strengthen Support and Welfare Expertise for Future Generations
Establishment of the Education, Culture, and Sports Bureau and Reorganization of the Happiness and Welfare Bureau
Seodaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seongheon) announced on the 31st that it will carry out an organizational restructuring effective January 1st next year to support the growth and development of future generations and strengthen expertise in the welfare sector.
The goal is to establish an organizational system for “comprehensive and consistent policy implementation,” with key changes including the establishment of the Education, Culture, and Sports Bureau, the reorganization of the Happiness Welfare Bureau, and the creation of new teams to strengthen the functions of redevelopment promotion.
The Education, Culture, and Sports Bureau will oversee the fields of children, youth, education, and culture, comprising the Departments of Culture and Sports, Education Support, Youth Policy, and Children and Adolescents. The existing Welfare, Culture, and Sports Bureau will be reorganized into the Happiness Welfare Bureau to strengthen the role of the dedicated welfare organization and provide better welfare services to residents.
The Redevelopment Promotion Team of the Housing Maintenance Department has been divided and expanded into Redevelopment Promotion Team 1 and Redevelopment Promotion Team 2. Through this, the office plans to strengthen the redevelopment promotion tasks for the Bukahyeon and Gajaeul redevelopment promotion districts.
Mayor Lee Seongheon stated, “This organizational restructuring is being implemented to focus support on the fields of children, youth, education, culture, and welfare, and through this, we will do our best to realize 200% happiness for our residents.”
