The National Theater announced that it will publish the third issue of 'Performing Arts Culture Research' on the 31st.
Performing Arts Culture Research is an academic journal encompassing topics from performing arts studies and museology discourse to interdisciplinary convergence research. It was launched in 2022 to capture the fruits of contemporary performing arts research and academic discussions.
The third issue of Performing Arts Culture Research consists of 'Special Feature,' 'Series,' 'Book Reviews,' and 'Critiques.' The Special Feature section publishes selected papers that have undergone peer review, centered on the annually proposed theme. This issue includes three papers on the theme "Performing Arts, Intersection and Expansion," covering the current status of convergent performing arts and performances applying advanced technologies such as AI.
The Series section introduces overseas performing arts museums and libraries, featuring the exhibition "Hallyu! The Korean Wave" held at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, UK.
In the Book Reviews section, reviews of 'Thinking Through Korean Mythology with Theater (by Kim Seonghee)' and 'The Invention of Art (by Larry Shiner)' examine the trends of contemporary performing arts.
The Critiques section introduces two critiques each by Na Sujin, who won the Grand Prize at the 3rd National Theater Young Performing Arts Critics Award, and Gu Sujeong, who won the Grand Prize at the 4th National Theater Young Performing Arts Critics Award.
